Colgate recognizes the efforts of students by granting scholarships, awards and grants each year.
The Power of A Smile Award
The Smile Award is open only to students at accredited Canadian dental schools who have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence at the date of entry.
Three (3)Prizes: Dental students with the case studies that most closely meet the criteria listed in the below “Smile Award Invitation” link.
First place winner will be awarded $6,000 CAN
Second place winner will be awarded $4,000 CAN
Third place winner will be awarded $2,000 CAN

Colgate CARE Program
Colgate-Palmolive is proud to announce the evolution of the Colgate Award for Research Excellence (CARE) which has granted 34 research awards since its inception 9 years ago. The CARE program provides funding support (up to $30,000.00 USD) to early in career scientists at academic institutions across the USA, Canada, and is now extending applications to investigators working in academic institutions in EU and the UK. This program is conducted in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the University of Pennsylvania.
In order to be eligible to apply for the CARE grant, you must:
- Have a primary appointment as a full-time faculty at an accredited dental school in the USA or Canada
- Be in the first five years of your initial academic appointment
- Have additional sources of financial support for the proposed study
